COZ: Chill Out Zone
This project was completed in collaboration with Danielle Begnaud of benyo studio.
The COZ, also known as the “Chill Out Zone”, is a modular system that creates opportunities to be alone, sit with friends, exercise, stretch, and create or display artwork.
The COZ is made of three pieces that can be moved independently and arranged uniquely. It may be used in hallways, classrooms, libraries, gyms, or any room with additional space.
The modules can be arranged in a variety of ways. Each zone invites slightly different activity and can be moved independently.
Flexible + Modular
The COZ provides moments to be alone, as well as moments to sit with a friend, which students recognize as being important for their wellbeing.
Alone but Together
Movement and stretching breaks can contribute to better class performance; however these active moments do not necessarily need to be social.
Calm + Active
