Hallway of DREAMs: Co-Design Studio

This was an interdisciplinary co-design studio course taught at Pratt Institute School of Design in Fall 2025, in partnership with DREAM Charter High School.

This Co-Design Studio, taught by Margot Kleinman, brought Pratt Interior Design students through the co-design process and facilitation of engagement sessions with high school students from DREAM. Through relationship building, careful listening, co-creation activities, and an iterative design process, the team developed design solutions for the hallway spaces.

The Wall of Frame is a full scale prototype of one of the design interventions. Similar to a life sized yearbook, this system allows seniors to have their photo on one side of a frame, and a quote, or inspirational message on the other side. Students wanted to “leave their mark” on their school while adding color and something interactive to their hallways.
