Pittsburgh International Airport Terminal Modernization Program

This project was completed with Gensler.

The Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) Terminal Modernization Program was developed in response to a changing market. Originally designed as an international hub, the scale of PIT no longer made sense for it’s current traffic demands. In an effort to right-size the airport, the project reduces operational and long term costs while providing a more enriching and place-specific passenger experience. The design of the new headhouse that connects with the existing airside terminal focuses on nature, technology, and community through careful integration of materials, outdoor spaces, and local artists while connecting to the landscape of Pittsburgh.
